Blanco State Park

While Kevin and I were in Missouri we purchased my very own hot pink fishing pole. That's right, I got a hot pink fishing pole! I'm not into pink guns, but when it comes to fishing poles I can't think of a better color. We got the fishing pole in Missouri just in case we decided to fish while we were at Table Rock Lake, but that really didn't happen, so today we put it into use.

Kevin and I took an adventure to Blanco State Park this morning to go fishing. As most of you know, I am not too much of an outdoors person, and in my 25 years I have caught only one fish (and that was three years ago). Well that record is now officially broken. Today I caught a total of 8 Perch. You heard it right, I caught 8 tiny fish!

Check out the fish and the hot pink pole...

Best fishing teacher ever...

Kevin was a very good teacher and was very patient considering I don't bait my own hook, can't take my fish off of my hook, lost several worms to hungry fish, and got my line tangled up just a few times.... but, I caught 8 fish! Kevin has now decided that if he can teach me to fish that when we have kids he will have no problem teaching them, but in order to have a good relaxing fishing trip sometimes it's best to leave amateurs behind!

Something Blue Wedding Shower

In just about two months, Kristin and Cody will be getting married! With the wedding date quickly approaching, a few of the bridesmaids and I threw Kristin a something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue wedding shower! It was perfect! Blue decorations, great food, delicious dessert, and lots of presents for the bride to be.

I even made my first bow bouquet, and if I do say so myself, it turned out very cute!

I think Kristin was most surprised when she opened her last gift from the hostesses and discovered that the heavy box was her mixer!

Now Kristin is almost ready to get married... next up bachelorette party!

Springfield, MO

SISTER TIME!!!!!

So if you haven't figured it out yet, I am pretty obsessed with my sister. I just love her so much and Curtis is pretty entertaining himself. I was so excited to go visit them that I even packed early. To recap our road trip we went from San Antonio to Arlington, up to Eureka Springs, which leads us to Springfield.

We had a blast in Springfield and here are just a few pictures that highlighted our trip...

I can't keep my eyes open! Thanks for the help Curtis...

Clank, Clank Kevin...

So one of the best decisions that we made while we were in Springfield was to rent a pontoon boat at Table Rock Lake. It was so much fun and now we all want to buy a boat!

Ready to go...

Lake time...

After being gone for almost a week we finally made the twelve and a half long drive back to Texas! Kevin and I enjoyed our sister/brother in-law time, but we were excited to go back home and see our puppy dog.

LOVE YOU SISTER!

Eureka Springs

With my sister and her husband living so far away in Missouri we are not able to see them very often. Visits are either during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or weddings; which equals not enough sister time!

Kevin and I have been planning a trip to visit Jennifer and Curtis since forever and a day ago and that day has finally arrived! To make a long driving trip not feel so long we broke up our trip going up to Missouri. We left San Antonio and stayed our first night in Arlington and continued our drive the next day up to Eureka Springs, Arkansan. The drive was very pretty, I got a good nap in, and we were a day closer to seeing my sister!

Eureka Springs is a very small town know for multiple springs that the original founders discovered. The springs were thought to have healing powers which attracted many settlers. Now, Eureka Springs attracts tourist for shopping, seeing the springs, and the Gingerbread style homes.

Let the road trip continue!

Gruene

Jennifer and Curtis came to Austin a couple of weekends ago for a wedding, so of course we had to see them! The family all meet up in Gruene to eat at the Gristmill. So yummy!!!

Cowboys Stadium Tour

For our anniversary, I got Kevin tickets to have a guided tour throughout the Dallas Cowboy's stadium.

The stadium...

Kevin with Tom Landry...

Our tour met you in the Pro Shop and begin at the Main Club level. During our tour we learned interesting facts about the stadium and how it was built.

Ready for the tour...

This is the HUGE television screen above the field. Interesting facts: this TV is never turned off and it is one of the 2,800 TV in the stadium.

Next stop on the tour was to view a private suite that belongs to Mr. Jerry Jones and his family. In his suite, there is a private elevator that only his family and guests can use that will take them directly to their field level box.

We proceeded to the Dr. Pepper Star Bar level and learned more about the retractable roof and window screens.

After that, we went into another private suite that was very large with extremely comfortable chairs. In this suite we learned more about the radio and print media press boxes.

From there, we visited the Cotton Bowl offices. Eventually they will need to move some of the Big 12 helmets...

Interesting Fact: The glass windows surrounding the Cotton Bowl offices are important/ famous plays from previous Cotton Bowls.

Our guided tour concluded by going down to the field. From that point on, we could explore the event level by our self. During this portion of the tour we walked around the field (kids were throwing footballs on the field and pretending to score touchdowns), went to the locker rooms of both the Cowboys and Cheerleaders, got to see the post-game interview room, and see the Miller Lite Club where the Cowboys rush onto the field for game time.

Kevin and I had a lot of fun on the tour. It was very interesting and we got to get into places that we would have never had access to. Now we just need to go to a Cowboys home game!
