Happy Two Years!!!

On June 20, 2009 Kevin and I became husband and wife.

Fast forward and now we have been married for two years! Two years!!!

This year we decided to have a low key anniversary. We slept in and went to the movies to see Hangover 2. It was funny, but not as good as the first one. For dinner we went to the Tower of Americas. The restaurant revolves around the San Antonio skyline and it was so pretty during sunset.

It was very windy...

It is amazing how much one person can mean to you. Kevin and I have grown together over the last two years. We challenge each other, are best friends, and love each other so much. I can't imagine what my life would be like if we hadn't met in The Library all those years ago!

Allison Becomes Mrs. Durst

Summer is a popular time to get married. This summer we have three weddings; Taylor and Cory, Allison and Lyle, and Ana and Adam. We can now cross two weddings off the list with Allison and Lyle getting married this past weekend in Fredericksburg.

Kevin's family traveled to San Antonio for a short visit before we all made our way to Fredericksburg. We were treated to an early anniversary dinner at Stone Werks by Kevin's parents and I was able to show everyone my new school.

Allison and Lyle had an afternoon wedding and we spent all evening dancing. Kevin and I did the official Fredericksburg March and by the end of the wedding we learned how to do some fancy turns while two-stepping.

On Sunday, it was Father's Day and it was our first time to celebrate with Kevin's side of the family. We spent the morning shopping in Fredericksburg and had lunch at a tea room. In the afternoon, we made our way back to San Antonio where we were able to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day. We had a nice weekend spent with family and shopping!

Austin Visit

It seems like it has been forever since Kevin and I have been trying to match our schedules with my grandparents in Austin. Nana and Pawpaw are big UT fans and go to about every game... football, basketball, and baseball so it has been a challenge finding a good weekend to go between their schedule and ours, but finally we found a perfect time to visit!

During our visit Kevin and Pawpaw went to the UT NCAA Super Regional baseball game, Nana and I went shopping, and we worked on a few house projects. It was nice to be able to visit with just the four of us and next time Nana and Pawpaw will have to be our house guests.

Taylor & Cory Say I Do

On June 11th, Cory and Taylor were announced husband and wife, but before the I do's were said, the weekend was spent preparing for the wedding. On Friday, the bride and all the bridesmaids checked into Hotel Contessa on the Riverwalk. We settled into our rooms, worked on programs, and before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the rehearsal.

Taylor and Cory got married on Marriage Island, which is located right on the Riverwalk in front of Hotel Contessa and that is where the rehearsal took place. Marriage Island is shaped like a heart and there more than 360 wedding that take place there a year. In fact, there were two weddings there on Saturday. So back to the rehearsal... the bride to be, the groom, and all of the attendants were practicing for the big day. The island is shaded by a big tree and all of a sudden a bird pooped on Taylor! Not only did the bird bless Taylor with good luck for the next day, but we all had a good laugh from it.

Kevin joined me at Paloma Blanca for the rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious and we got to see lots of old pictures of Cory and Taylor. The rehearsal dinner...

Saturday was a jam-packed day. For the wedding, we helped Taylor make all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. It was quite a process, but I think we did a good job and made them all pretty fast. The bridesmaids went into town to get our hair fixed and by the time we got back Taylor was having her make-up and hair done. After that we took a few pictures and it was wedding time!

The birds left everyone alone during the ceremony and the reception was in the ballroom of Hotel Contessa. We spent the night dancing and having fun with friends.

Happy Wedding Taylor and Cory!

Ana & Adam's Couple Shower

Kevin and I are both in Ana and Adam's wedding this summer. I wanted to throw Ana a wedding shower, but fell in love with the soon to be Purnell's idea of a couple shower. When we started to plan the shower, I decided that we must decorate the house with tons of pinewheels. Ana is using pinwheels as flowers at her wedding so I decided to go all out and decorate with lots and lots of pinwheels. They turned out so cute and they were very easy to make.

The shower was pretty low-key with finger foods like sliders and armadillo eggs. We had a decent sized crowd and we all had lots of fun.

The weather cooperated with us and we were able to open gifts outside. Ana and Adam got lots of new goodies for their home in Houston and we ended the night playing Ladder Golf and Washers outside.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the cute couple opening gifts...

I had never been to a couples shower before, but I would reccomend it. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to the July wedding!
