The Nursery

We know we are having a boy, we are counting down the weeks, a name has been chosen, and now it is time to get serious about getting the nursery together. One of our extra guest bedrooms is now Wyatt's room. We didn't have too much in his bedroom to move out besides a pull out couch and a closet filled with holiday decorations and other odds and ends so it was easy to get everything out and start making the room turn into a nursery.

And after...

As you can see, we went with an owl themed nursery. I fell in love with the bedding and everything else just fell into place. We were given an old dresser and are using it as a changing table. I am very happy how the whole room turned out and now we just need a baby for the room!

Mobile

Once an owl themed nursery was decided, my wheels started turning of all the different projects I wanted to do for the room. Add a sister who is an interior designer and a very creative mom, the ideas just kept coming.

Instead of buying a mobile, I decided to make one. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I love the way it turned out. Here are the owls in the different stages of the mobile project...

And now here is the finished project hanging above the changing pad...

Let's Rodeo San Antonio!

Well, I don't wear my boots very often, but the Rodeo is a perfect place to dust off the boots and dress as a cowboy. We went the last Saturday of the Rodeo. Kevin and I went early to walk around and I learned quite a bit about Ag Mechanics.

Jennifer, Curtis, Andrew, and Celeste joined us for the Rodeo.

Mom Update

Finally, some good news! From mom's last visit to MD Anderson, her blood levels show that she is on track and the doctor is confident that the current chemo is working!!!!! During mom's next follow up appointment, they will meet with a transplant team to begin the process for a bone marrow transplant. The bone marrow will be harvested from her and right now we do not know if the procedure will be done in San Antonio or Houston. Once the transplant takes place mom will be in the hospital for 3-4 weeks to build back her immune system. We still have a long way to go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
