Happy Father's Day!

Well, we did not end up celebrating Father's Day with either of our daddies this year. We were in Miles the weekend before Father's Day at the family reunion so we were able to wish Leonard a happy early Father's Day. Our first anniversary fell on Father's Day this year, so Kevin and I decided to have 'us' time. The day after Father's Day, we had the Kilgore side of the family over for dinner.

We couldn't ask for better dads! We love them so much! (Old pictures, but still good ones!)

Our First Anniversary

Kevin and I have now officially been married for a year now! June 20th officially marked our one year anniversary. I guess you can now start calling us an old married couple!

This past year has flown by! We are incredible happy. It is the best feeling being loved by someone so much and for that person to accept you for you. It is very true how your love for someone develops and grows over years. Kevin and I can both honestly say that we love each other so much more than the day we first got married and our relationship will continue to grow as the years pass.

We celebrated our anniversary by having a very low key day and exchanged gifts in the morning. Kevin and I decided to take the traditional route and exchange paper as our first anniversary gift. I got Kevin VIP ticket's to tour the Cowboys stadium. We will get to see the press box, locker rooms, and the field to name just a few things. Kevin bought me a pretty painting for our home (I'm still deciding where to hang it.).

That evening we went to Kirby's Steakhouse for dinner. It was delicious and Kirby's surprised us with a beautiful dessert and an anniversary card.

After dinner, we returned home to celebrate our marriage with a bottle of champagne and having a piece of wedding cake.

It was exciting to relive our wedding day and to go through our wedding album. All the pictures captured our day so perfectly. Our first anniversary was very special and it will be exciting to see what the future holds for us.

Taylor and Cory's Engagement Party

Since Cory popped the question, it was a perfect opportunity to begin my duties as Taylor's matron of honor and throw an engagement party.

The two have set their date for June 11, 2011 and the wedding planning has begun! If I do say so, the engagement party was a lot of fun!

The happy couple!

And just a few of the girls...

Kevin's New Toy...

We finally got a gas grill! It has been so much fun cooking out this summer. We had a charcoal grill that was Kevin's grandfather's, but we did not use it often because it took so much time to get the fire going. We don't have that problem anymore, so I have been enjoying Kevin's grilling skills this summer.

Kevin and his big kid toy...

Yummy, yummy...

I love when Kevin cooks...

Gallas/Heinze Family Reunion

The weekend of June 12th, Erin went to her first Heinze family reunion. The reunion took place at the Lutheran church in Miles, Texas where we spent quality time with family and had lots of yummy food. For the majority of the weekend, Kevin and I spent our time at Nanaw and Pa's house. We had a lot of fun with all the cousins playing old games like Marbles, Spoons, and Egyptian War.... let's just say I'm not the most competative Heinze.

We always enjoy our time in Miles. Miles is a very peaceful place where you can relax and remove yourself from everything else going on around you. The land is beautiful and Nanaw always makes sure you have a full belly!

House Update

As Kevin likes to say, "There is plenty of time for that." Those words have been the theme of putting together our house and slowly it is being transformed into our home.

Last summer the goal was to get rid of boxes, figure out where to put everything, buy a couch, and find drapes for the rooms. Over Christmas we were able to add a piece of furniture and we are hoping to do the same next Christmas. Below are the results of this summer's project of adding more artwork and knick-knacks to the house.

New artwork for the living room.

Finally, our mantle is complete!

The entertainment stand is filled up.

Artwork has been switched out in the study.

A new picture hanging above our bed.

And in plenty of time we will add more to our home and eventually be able to buy our first house!

Sunday Drive...

This past weekend, Kevin and I made a trip up to Wimberley with my parents and brother to visit my Grandy Curtis and Nell. We had a very nice visit, got to see their new patio expansion, and we even learned how to play a new game called Joker. Joker is kind of like Sorry, but you are on teams.

It is a very fun game that we ended up playing three times! My team was close to winning, but lost all three games and my husband enjoyed gloating that he was on the winning team all three times.

Hopefully in the fall we will finally be able to make it up to Wimberley for Market Days! Cross your fingers that we will be free the first Saturday of the month.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smart

Amanda Jones officially became Amanda Smart on June 5th, which brings our 2010 wedding total to five . Amanda and I were roomates our freshman year at Tech. We went pot-luck and were both very glad that we ended up with each other. We had so much fun together our freshmen year and I wish we stayed closer friends as the years went on.

And now Amanda as a blushing bride...

Welcome to the married club Amanda and Robert!

Matt & Krissy's Wedding Weekend

Memorial Day weekend official kicked off our summer vacation... school's out for the SUMMER! As I have mentioned before, we have a lot of weddings this year. Memorial Day weekend has come and gone and so has wedding number 4 of the year!

Matt and Krissy got hitched in Castroville overlooking the beautiful Texas landscape. Matt is one of Kevin's fraternity brothers and Kevin served as an usher in the wedding.
