Easter Weekend

Easter was spent in Arlington this year with the Heinze's and Macy May. This was Macy's first trip to Arlington and she did great! It was crazy how much more we packed bringing her along. Kevin and I joked about how much more we will have in the back of our car on once kids come into the picture.

We made it to Arlington Friday afternoon in time to go to the Rangers game. We watched the Rangers beat Kansas City 11-6. The game had a lot of hits and quite a few home runs. There were supposed to be fireworks after the game, but they got canceled because of the wind. It was very, very windy!

Saturday was a very relaxing day. We had a picnic at the park and the weather was so nice and Macy enjoyed everyone walking her. Am-Ma was able to come over for an early Easter dinner and made her world famous gravy.

Easter Sunday was spent at church and on the road driving back to San Antonio. I hope everyone had a blessed Easter remembering how truly greatful we are for the lives we have. Happy Easter!

Viva Fiesta!

Happy Fiesta! For those of you who do not know what Fiesta is, let me fill you in. Fiesta is a annual event that takes place in San Antonio every April. Fiesta lasts for eleven days and there are more than 100 events. There are parades, lots of music, and very good food. It is kind of like a big party with lots and streets/areas closed down.

This year we went to two events; NIOSA and the King William Fair. We made it a family event and Jennifer and Curtis were even in town to be apart of the celebration. NIOSA, A Night In Old San Antonio, was our first event that we attended. Friday evening, we took the bus down to La Villita where NIOSA takes place. NIOSA celebrates all the different cultures with all types of foods, drinks, and music. The food was very good.

Here are some pictures from NIOSA...

We spent Saturday at the King William Fair. The Kind William Fair is more family friendly and starts off with a parade. There are different areas designated for food, craft venders, and a children's area. You can even bring your dog! Macy did not come this year, but maybe next time. Once again, there was a lot of good food and the weather was perfect... warm with a cool breeze. It couldn't get any better.

If you have never been to Fiesta before, you should come check it out next April. Viva Fiesta!

April 8th Weekend

It's official, I found out on Friday that I will be teaching at Kinder Ranch next year! Kinder Ranch is a new elementary school that will open next school year. I am not sure what grade I will be teaching, but I will update everyone once I find out.

In other news... we spent our weekend in Miles. Allison, one of Kevin's cousins, had a wedding shower over the weekend. It was a great shower and Allison had a lot of goodies to open. I met some family I had never met before, and as always it is good to catch up with the rest of the family.

A good majority of our weekend was spent fishing with Kevin's dad. We went out every morning and we were very successful! We caught mostly Perch and even a few Catfish. Not only did I hold the fish in one picture, but I even learned how to take off the hook. I was very brave and I think I made my husband very proud.

Easter Bunny

Our house is ready for the Easter Bunny to come! Everything is decorated and my latest craft project is completed.

I have been wanting an Easter tree, but can't justify spending around $40 to buy a basket with sprayed white branches in it so I decided to do it myself. The finished project...

This might be one of my cheapest crafts project to date! My mom had painted the basket a while back for a shower and the basket was just sitting in the garage so I decided to take advantage of the cute basket and I didn't have to do a thing to it. Then when my parents were trimming their crape myrtles, I took some of the branches. Some plaster of paris, a bottle of white spray paint, and a few egg decorations.....and the tree is complete.

Rampage

Kevin and I had a super productive weekend. Just to name a few things... we ran tons of errands, planted new flowers, and hung shelves by the back bedrooms. I still want to add more black and white pictures to the shelves so the quest is on to find pictures.

Even when running around everywhere, we did manage to slip in some fun time. On Saturday evening, we went to a Rampage hockey game. It was a lot of fun and the Rampage won! The game went to overtime, but in the last 30 seconds the Rampage managed to score. After the game was over we stayed to watch the puck toss. I have never seen this before. It was crazy to see everyone throwing their bright orange pucks onto the ice. No one made it into the helment so the jackpot went up.
