Doctor's Appointment #2

Now, that I am in the second trimester I will be going to the doctor every 4 weeks. Our second appointment went very well. We didn't get to see Baby Heinze, but we were able to hear it's heartbeat. It was so neat and comforting hearing it. The heartbeat sounded strong and very consistent. We also had lab work done and we will find out the results during our next appointment.

Baby Bump

Believe it or not we have been pregnant for 3 months already! I have finished my first trimester and have begun my second one. Overall, I have had a pretty easy going pregnancy. I have had a few rough mornings and I am tired... I like to go to bed around 8:30. I crave cheese- cheese sticks, cheese cubes, grilled cheese, and bean and cheese tacos. And now the pictures everyone has wanted to see...

Kevin is 27

Kevin turned a year older on October 11th. After we got home from work, Kevin started to open all of his birthday cards and presents. Baby Heinze gave his daddy a book for him to read and Kevin is now more prepared for deer season with his new camo jacket and binoculars.

We went out to dinner and had birthday cake when we got home....a plain choclate cake without any icing (Kevin's request). On Thursday, my mom cooked dinner for my side of the family where we had another birthday party.

This was one of Kevin's first birthdays since we have been married that we did not go to Arlington. Nancy, Leonard, and Kathleen are planning to make a trip to San Antonio the first weekend in November so we can celebrate Kevin's and Kathleen's birthday. So let the celebration continue!

Letting Everyone Know our BIG Secret

Kevin and I were so excited to start sharing our news with family and friends! We started to share the news the Saturday after our first doctor's appointment. First to cross off the list was Jennifer and Curtis. We told them in a very boring way, but I just didn't know how to tell them and I was very nervous for some reason. We made plans to go to brunch on Saturday. I wanted to tell them before we went to eat, but we were running late due to the account of morning sickness. By the time we got to their house, Jennifer and Curtis were ready to go. So we had a yummy brunch then we went back to their house were I pretty much just blurted it out.

Kevin talked to his parents and Kathleen on the phone. He told them that they needed to get out their calendar so we could go over dates for trips. He told them to turn to April and to plan on coming down to San Antonio around the 20th because we are having a BABY! Two very exciting grandparents on the other line!

Mom, Dad, and Andrew found out all together. Kevin and I went over to their house with a sign and a baby balloon. Once again very exciting expecting grandparents.

The great grandparents were all very excited to hear the good news and so were all of our friends. I wish I would have taken pictures after every time we had told someone. It would have made for a great picture and I had my camera with me everytime, but I just didn't think about it. The only picture we have is of the sign I had made for my parents.

First Doctor's Appoitment

This was the day we had been waiting for! When we first found out we were pregnant, Kevin and I decided to be on the safe side and that we would not let anyone know that we had a baby growing in my belly until we went to the doctor. This was the longest wait and the hardest thing to keep a secret from everyone. Got to love the question, "What's new in your life?" and all you want to say is, "We're having a baby!" and you end up saying, "Nothing new."

Finally, the day comes to go to the doctor! The day we had been waiting for... Thursday, September 15 at 4:30. I leave work to pick up Kevin and then we made our way to the doctor. It was exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. I cannot explain the feeling that rushed over the two of us the first time we saw our baby. We were so happy and overwhelmed with emotions.

Meet Baby Heinze at 9 weeks and 2 days old.

Finding Out

On August 12th, Kevin and I found out we were expecting! It was the most shocking and exciting news. We had been trying since mid May and each month it became harder and harder finding out that we weren't pregnant. Then August comes.

Kevin planned a date night for the 12th to Buffalo Wild Wings and then to Retama Park to see horse racing. Before going, we decided I should take a pregnancy test so we would know and if I wasn't I would have the green light to drink a beer. I take the test and finish getting ready for date night to pass those five minutes of waiting time. Five minutes are up, I call for Kevin, and head to the bathroom to see what I thought would be another disappointing test. I look down at the test and something looked very different. Kevin was behind me and we looked at the directions again to see what those lines meant. Two lines...pregnant... and a very happy, shocked, crying couple. We still wanted to take another pregnancy test to be on the safe side, but in my heart I knew I was pregnant. Kevin on the other hand wanted to be very practical and make sure. We went on our date night and talked a lot about babies.

Date night/ we just found out we passed the test...

Four pregnancy test later, there was no doubt that I was pregnant.

First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage...

Then comes a BABY in a baby carriage!!!!

That's right, Kevin and I are expecting!
