Meeting Santa

I'm not sure who was more excited to meet Santa...Wyatt or me!!  We went to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and we will be back next year.  It was really neat all the things that they had set up for the kids to do.  There were games, crafts, a carousel ride, and of course Santa.  Best part, it was all free!

Wyatt was very happy waiting in line to meet Santa.

Wyatt was fascinated the closer we got to Santa.  He loved the huge ornaments hanging from the ceiling and the squeaky noise maker with jingle bells on it that the camera man was using to get the kids attention.   When it was Wyatt's turn, he didn't mind that he was in Santa's lap, but there were no smiles.  He was so interested in Santa's beard.  I think if he would have stayed in Santa's lap longer, he would have been pulling on it.

7 Months Old

The day Wyatt turned 7 months old...

Wyatt was baptized on Sunday, November 18.  He was such a good baby during his baptism ceremony.  He was very interested in the flowers behind him and was overall pretty quiet.  He didn't mind being passed off and there was no crying.

Wyatt's first Thanksgiving was spent in Arlington.  He tried sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and even had a little turkey.  Wyatt decided that it would also be ok to start rolling over from back to tummy and tummy to back.  Up to this point, Wyatt would roll over very seldomly and more often at daycare.  Now he loves to roll over.

While in Arlington, we had to take full advantage of all the fall leaves for pictures.  Wyatt loves his daddy and they both have those big chubby cheeks.  Wyatt is experimenting with lots of sounds- a, b, d, m, and t.  We even get to hear our sweet boy say, "mama" and "dada" everyday.  I don't think he knows that this is our name, but that's ok.

It is still hard to believe that I am a mom and that I was pregnant for 9 months!  I recently looked back at belly pictures and I couldn't believe how big I was.  Wyatt has become more aware of both Kevin and me and is starting to hold out his arms for us.  We are even starting to get big, wet, slobbery kiss from Wyatt!

Our family took our first trip to the park.  It will become a new tradition to go to a park whenever we visit Grandma, Opa, and Aunt Kathleen.  Wyatt loves to be outside and had a lot of fun on the swing.  He wasn't afraid to be pushed and is starting to stick out his tongue all the time.

Christmas is just right around the corner!  Growing up, my parents gave me an ornament every Christmas and once I got married they gave me all of my ornaments and now our tree is full or very special ornaments.  I wanted to pass this tradition down to Wyatt.

We took pictures for Christmas cards...

And of course we met Santa...

Mom Update

This is a long overdue post...... MOM IS CANCER FREE!!!!!  The results are in from scans, blood work, and many doctor visits.  The transplant worked!  Last New Year, I had a post about 10 things to do in 2012 and #2 on the list was to get mom cancer free.  I am so happy to say that we can cross this off the list.  It has been an emotional journey with lots of lows and ending on a really big high.  Mom will still have to be closely monitored by doctors and will be receiving maintenance chemo the rest of her life.

I think in times like this it can either bring a family closer together or push a family apart.  This has been a battle for the whole family and has made our family even closer.  It has completely changed my relationship with God bring me closer to him and I have seen first hand how much the power of prayer can change a life.  Thank you to everyone that has prayed for my family during this difficult time and who have been there to support us.

6 Months

Wyatt turned 6 months old in October.

Wyatt loves to sit up on his own.  He can sit up right for around 20 minutes and is able to keep himself balanced.  Wyatt will grab for toys and he loves to put everything in his mouth.  Wyatt is really into holding books and his picture photo book of his family is one of his favorite things to hold onto.  Wyatt still really isn't into rolling over.  We know he can, and have seen him do it, but he much rather sit upright.

Wyatt has graduated from taking baths in his little blue tub to the kitchen sink.  During bath time, Wyatt loves to hold onto toys.

We are beginning to introduce Wyatt to sold foods.  He is not so sure about them yet and he is still working on learning how to chew.

Our poor baby was very sick this month.  Wyatt caught a nasty stomach bug and passed it along to mommy and daddy.  Wyatt never had a temperature, but was nonstop throwing up.  By the way, baby throw-up is no fun and winds up all over you!

Wyatt also had lots of family time.  We spent time with our great grandparents and loved on our cousin George.

For Halloween, Wyatt was a spider.  We spent Halloween night at my school at trunk or treat.

The dogs love their baby Wyatt!  Leroy is still learning that if there is a blanket laid on the floor it does not mean it is for him and that all toys are his.  Macy May is so sweet with Wyatt.  She always lays by him when he is on the floor.  Wyatt will pet and sometimes pull on her and Macy can just make Wyatt laugh and laugh.

Time is flying by.  Wyatt is such a sweet, laid back little boy.  He is so mellow and happy.  We are so proud of our little boy.
