Kristin & Cody Get Hitched

Wedding bells were ringing on September 18th! A little over a year ago, Kristin caught my bouquet and Cody caught the garter. After a long engagement and lots of planning, it was finally Kristin's turn to walk down the aisle.

I was one of ten bridesmaids in the wedding. Having known Kristin since the third grade, it was very special that I was a part of this big day in Kristin's life. The wedding festivities began Friday morning with all of the girls getting manicures and pedicures.

After being pampered, we all headed to the bridal luncheon. At the luncheon, we were able to see Kristin's bridal pictures. She looked BEAUTIFUL in all of the pictures! We had a yummy lunch and Kristin spoiled us all.

Look it's me!

The rehearsal went smoothly at the church and then it was off to the rehearsal dinner to celebrate Kristin and Cody.

Saturday morning consisted of getting our hair all pretty.

Then it was time to go to the church and get ready for the ceremony. Kristin was a beautiful blushing bride and all of the bridesmaids looked very pretty in our eggplant dress and bright shoes.

After the 'I do's' we headed to the reception. A mashed potato bar, lots of dancing, and an ice cream bar where among a few of the fun things at the reception.

All of Kristin's hard planning paid off. Everything was perfect! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Cody Johnson!

Cotton Fest 2010

This year Miles celebrated their 33rd Annual Cotton Festival and there was no rain! Last year was my first time to experience the Cotton Festival and the weather was horrible; cold and rainy. Kevin, Leonard, and I began the festivities at the parade in the morning and then we shopped at the different booths set up in town. I got some great smelling handmade soaps and of course we had some yummy fair food. That evening, Kevin and I went to the street dance where there was a concert being played. Even though people weren't dancing in the street, I still made Kevin dance with me... I found it only fitting with the name and everything.

Here are some pictures from the parade...

Macy May also accompanied us on our trip to Miles. Macy was very rugged and could not stop smelling the air. We took her to Hackberry and Kevin even shot the shotgun next to her. To my big surprise, it didn't scare Macy that much. More so than anything, she didn't seem that interested.

While we were at Hackberry, Kevin and his dad updated the game cameras. All the Heinze boys were very excited to see what was captured on the cameras and made them more excited for deer season to begin. You know where Kevin will be the first weekend in November!

We had a lot of fun on our trip to Miles. It was good to see Nanaw and Pa, watch Caydn's volleyball game, and to see the rest of the Heinze klan.

Labor Day Weekend

Wow, it has been a while since we have had a new post! Kevin and I are both settling back into the routine of teaching, which has kept us both very busy. I am starting my third year of teaching Kindergarten and I have a wonderful group of kids this year. Kevin is still the Academic Director of Roddick Lavalle Tennis Academy and he has more students this year ranging from sixth grade all the way up to high school seniors.

For Labor Day, Kevin and I went to the beach in Matagorda, Texas where we stayed at Adam's cousin's beach house. They have the best deck ever! The weather was perfect and we were able to enjoy our Houston friends! We spent the day at the beach playing in the water and I was able to manage to get a weird sunburn.

Before we all packed up on Sunday to travel back home, we watched the first Texas Tech football game of the year! Wreck 'Em Tech! Tech pulled off a win against SMU, but it was weird not seeing Leach on the sidelines. The month of September is going to fly by! Our weekends are filled up and we are ready for a busy, exciting month.
