Spring Break

One reason that I love being a teacher is that you still get holidays like spring break! It has been a perfect week to relax and to become rejuvenated again. It is also wonderful that my husband is also a teacher so we both get time off together! We have not done much this week, but a few highlights from our time off of work was our trip to Miles.

Pretty pictures from Miles...

I also had a fun shopping date with my mom. I got a few new things and Kevin went fishing and caught four fish. It has been a nice week that has gone by too fast, but I can't complain because not everyone gets a week off of work.

Getting Ready for Easter

Yes, I am one of those people who like to decorate for each season (imagine that). I learned well from my mother. So Easter is right around the corner and it is time to make our house festive.

Growing up, my grandmother was always painting and each Easter my Granna would paint an egg for all of the grandkids. So a big part of my decorations are in thanks to my Granna.

Here are just a few of my painted eggs...

While trying to add to my egg collection, I found some really cute block letters at Hobby Lobby that I attempted to paint. Maybe one day I will be the master painter like my Grandma.

Here is the end result of my painting...

Now, our house looks nice and festive for Easter!

You have to check it out: http://www.stelladot.com/sites/jennifercasey. I plan on having a trunk show party next time Jennifer is in town. If you love any of the pieces and really want it right now you can always email Jennifer at jennifermcasey@gmail.com.

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick

It is official! Meredith and Jared tied the knot. Meredith did a great job planning a wedding so fast and her dress was gorgeous. Once the pastor announced the happy couple as husband and wife, Jared and Meredith planned a very fun exit. Meredith being a dance director and all, choreographed a little dance for the two of them as they left the ceremony. It was very funny and very Meredith.

I have known Meredith since high school and I am so happy that she has found Jared. He makes her very happy. We had a lot of fun at the wedding with Kristin, Jessica, and her boyfriend.

The happy couple!

On a side note, today marked our 9 month anniversary of being married. It was a special way to spend the day seeing someone else being married and all the wonderful memories that it brought back to us.

Wedding Count: Second wedding of the year checked off the list and five more to go!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope everyone wore green yesterday! Once a month, my teacher friends and I get together to play BUNCO. I hosted BUNCO this month at our house and it was a hit. To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we had a baked potatoe bar and of course served green beer! Maybe next time I will win some money.

Weekend Visitors

This weekend the Arlington Heinzes came to visit the San Antonio Heinzes. It was our first time to have visitors stay at our house and the first time for Kevin's family to see our home as a married couple. I did a lot of cooking this weekend and we went to the Botanical Gardens on Saturday. It was such a pretty weekend to be outside.

We enjoyed our weekend and it was fun to be able to entertain in our own home.

The Door is Fixed!

Our door has finally been fixed!!!! Little over a month ago, our door was shot at (most likely by teenagers in the neighborhood) and it cracked the glass. After many phone calls and being told that this person then that person will be calling us about getting it fixed someone finally called us! We have a new glass panel on our door and the blue painters tape holding the cracked glass together is officially gone!

Finishing Up A Project....

The creative bug has bit me and I have new inspiration to finish my scrapbook that I have started so many months ago. I made a little mini-scrapbook of how Kevin and I met that led up to the proposal. When planning our wedding, I kept going back and forth and could not decided if I wanted to have a traditional wedding book that people would sign at showers. I ended up deciding that it just wasn't me so I choose to go the more creative route and make a wedding scrapbook. I had made one for my sister and it was a really neat way to put all of those pictures you take. I tend to just keep photos that I print in a small box in the closets. It is a great way to store photos, but then no one really ever sees them.

Long story short, I started a wedding scrapbook. At first, I did a very good job printing pictures and buying paper, but life got busy and I stopped working on it. For some reason last week, I decided to make a mess out of our kitchen and turn it into my little scrapbook workshop. This is what I have turned our kitchen table into so we have been enjoying eating in the dinning room.

It is still a work in progress, but I am proud of my work. It is over half way finished. I just need to work on the bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and finish the book up with a few honeymoon pages. Now I just need to print a few pictures and buy some more paper!
