Curtis H. Cadenhead, Jr.

Unexpectedly Grandy Curtis, my mom's dad, passed away after Thanksgiving.

Curtis H. Cadenhead, Jr. Jan. 4, 1930 - Nov. 29, 2010 Curtis went Home to be with the LORD on November 29, 2010. He lived his life with joy, compassion, integrity, kindness and love. Curtis was born and reared in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University, with bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting. He worked for 35 years with Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte) as a CPA. He was Partner in Charge of the Buenos Aires, Atlanta and Saint Louis offices. Curtis was most passionate and proud of his family. For more than 33 years, he was a dedicated and loving husband to Nell Lambert Cadenhead. They shared a love for friends, family, and animals, with a strong faith in the LORD and a dedication to their community. Curtis was a loving father to Bob Cadenhead and Holly Vatter, and Debbi Cadenhead Kilgore and Bob Kilgore. His grandchildren will remember him for playing games, his miniature horses, hunting and other outdoor activities. He was "Grandy" to Karl Cadenhead, Jennifer Kilgore Casey, Erin Kilgore Heinze, and Andrew Kilgore. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis H. Cadenhead and Maurine Peacock Cadenhead. He is survived by his brother, Gary Cadenhead. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley. Curtis' life will be celebrated on Friday, December 3, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church, Wimberley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or Wimberley Lion's Club. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
